FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear the most.

If your question isn't here, write to us via the contact page or directly at hello@gridvulcan.com.

Is GRIDVULCAN custodial?

No. You bring a trade-only API key from your exchange. We never hold funds, and we never request withdrawal permission. The bot signs orders through your key against the exchange's order book.

What exchanges do you support?

Binance and OKX. We start with the two most liquid order books for BTC/USDT and add more once we have proven uptime there.

Can I run the bot on multiple pairs?

Yes. Each bot operates on a single pair. Run multiple bots in parallel for multiple pairs (limited by your plan's bot count).

What happens if your service goes down?

Your funds are unaffected — they're on the exchange. Your open orders stay open on the exchange until the bot resumes. Bots do not auto-resume after a crash; you decide when to restart so you don't run blind into a market that has moved.

How is the kill-switch enforced?

The panic endpoint runs server-side. When you press it (or it triggers from a daily loss limit), the engine cancels open orders and closes positions on the exchange. The action is logged in the audit trail. The browser tab can be closed; the kill-switch still completes.

What's the difference between paper and LIVE mode?

Paper mode simulates fills against live market data without sending real orders. LIVE mode sends real orders through your API key. Switching from paper to LIVE requires an explicit risk acknowledgement (also logged server-side).

Do you backtest?

Yes. We provide a grid backtest on real OHLCV history. Note: backtests are an approximation, not a guarantee of future results — and our current backtester is a simpler model than the live engine, so treat results as a directional signal, not a proof.

Is grid trading profitable?

It depends on the market. Grid trading shines in sideways, range-bound markets and struggles in strongly trending markets. We have a long-form article on this in /learn/is-grid-trading-profitable that walks through real cases.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. During the beta there's nothing to cancel — it's free. Once billing is live, cancellation is one click in your dashboard. We refund the unused portion of the period if you cancel within 7 days of a charge.

Where can I see real results?

Operators can opt their bot into a public track record (anonymised handle, real fills). Browse them at /track-record.

How do I get access?

Join the waitlist from the home page. We open access in cohorts. Whitelisted users sign up via /register.

How do I delete my account?

From the dashboard settings, or by emailing privacy@gridvulcan.com. We delete personal data within 30 days of the request, per our privacy policy.
